Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man and Van Finchley

Man and Van Finchley is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in our own activities and throughout our supply chain. It applies to all team members, contractors and suppliers engaged in providing services to or on behalf of Man and Van Finchley.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

We maintain a clear and uncompromising zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, or any practice that exploits vulnerable individuals. This policy is central to our values and underpins our approach to recruitment, procurement and day-to-day business decisions.

All employees, agency workers, drivers, porters, and subcontractors working with Man and Van Finchley are expected to comply with this policy. We require that all individuals are free to leave their employment after reasonable notice, are paid fairly for the work they perform, and work voluntarily without coercion, threats or deception. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation involved in, or turning a blind eye to, modern slavery.

Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Standards

Our supply chain primarily includes vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging and equipment vendors, facilities services and labour-only subcontractors. We recognise that modern slavery risks can arise at any stage of the supply chain, particularly where temporary labour or low-skilled work is involved.

We expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold high ethical standards that are consistent with our own. As a condition of doing business with Man and Van Finchley, suppliers must confirm that they comply with all applicable laws on modern slavery and human trafficking and that they implement effective controls to prevent exploitation and abuse within their operations and supply chains.

Supplier Audits and Due Diligence

We conduct proportionate due diligence on new suppliers and periodically review existing suppliers to assess the risk of modern slavery. This may include requesting information on their labour practices, reviewing policies and procedures, and verifying that they undertake appropriate checks on their own workforce and subcontractors.

Where a higher risk is identified, we may undertake more detailed assessments, seek additional assurances, or request evidence of corrective actions. If we find that a supplier is unwilling or unable to address genuine concerns relating to modern slavery, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate our relationship with that supplier.

Raising Concerns and Reporting Channels

Man and Van Finchley encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking connected with our business or supply chain. No individual will suffer any form of retaliation or disadvantage for raising a concern in good faith.

Concerns can be raised directly with line managers or senior management, or through internal reporting routes established for ethical and compliance matters. Reports will be treated seriously and sensitively, and information will be handled as confidentially as possible. We will investigate all credible allegations promptly and, where appropriate, work with relevant authorities or specialist organisations to ensure that victims are protected and that any wrongdoing is addressed.

Training, Awareness and Continuous Improvement

We strive to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our team, particularly those involved in recruitment, supplier management and frontline operations. Training and guidance are provided so that our people can recognise potential indicators of exploitation, understand how to respond and know how to escalate concerns.

We are committed to improving our systems and controls over time. As our business and supply chain evolve, we will continue to refine our risk assessment processes, strengthen our engagement with suppliers and seek opportunities to collaborate on best practices in tackling modern slavery.

Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review

Responsibility for overseeing our response to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Man and Van Finchley. They ensure that this statement and our supporting procedures remain appropriate, effective and proportionate to the nature and scale of our operations.

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed each year to reflect changes in legislation, emerging risks, practical lessons learned and feedback from employees, suppliers and other stakeholders. Updates will be approved at a senior level and communicated internally and externally as appropriate. By maintaining this ongoing review process, we seek to uphold our commitment to protecting human rights and ensuring that modern slavery has no place in the activities of Man and Van Finchley or within our supply chain.
